چکیده
We determine the algebraic degree of minimal problems for the calibrated trifocal variety in computer vision. We rely on numerical algebraic geometry and the homotopy continuation software Bertini.

The ideal of the trifocal variety
Techniques from representation theory, symbolic computational algebra, and numerical algebraic geometry are used to find the minimal generators of the ideal of the trifocal variety. An effective test for determining whether a given tensor is a trifocal tensor is also given.
متن کاملVisual control through the trifocal tensor for nonholonomic robots
We present a new vision-based control approach which drives autonomously a nonholonomic vehicle to a target location. The vision system is a camera fixed on the vehicle and the target location is defined by an image taken previously in that location. The control scheme is based on the trifocal tensor model, which is computed from feature correspondences in calibrated retina across three views: ...
متن کاملProjective Minimal Analysis of Camera Geometry
This thesis addresses the general problem of how to find globally consistent and accurate estimates of multiple-view camera geometry from uncalibrated imagery of an extended scene. After decades of study, the classic problem of recovering camera motion from image correspondences remains an active area of research. This is due to the practical difficulties of estimating many interacting camera p...
متن کاملWeakly-Calibrated Visual Control of Mobile Robots using the Trifocal Tensor and Central Cameras
In this paper, we present the synthesis of two control schemes that exploit the properties of the trifocal tensor computed from bearing measurements (1D TT), for the poseregulation problem of mobile robots. Both control schemes are valid for vision systems obeying a central projection model, in such a way that visibility constraint problems can be overcome. The use of the 1D TT avoids the need ...
متن کاملLaser steering using virtual trifocal visual servoing
This paper focuses on the development of a weakly calibrated three-view based visual servoing control law applied to laser steering process. It proposes to revisit the conventional trifocal constraints governing a three-view geometry for a more suitable use in the design of an efficient trifocal vision-based control. Thereby, an explicit control law is derived, without any matrix inversion, whi...
